About Log My Golf
Golf worth remembering.
Log My Golf is a scorecard, handicap estimate and golf society app for the way club and weekend golfers actually play — built and run in the United Kingdom.
Why it exists
Most rounds disappear.
The card goes in the bin by the 18th green. The score ends up in a notes app, or scrolled away in a group chat. The handicap is a number everyone quotes and nobody quite trusts, and the society results live on whoever remembered to write them down.
Log My Golf exists to keep all of it — hole by hole, season by season — in one place that's yours: the scorecard done properly, an honest handicap estimate, and the people you play with.

The handicap estimate
A straight answer on your handicap.
Your estimate follows the same idea as the World Handicap System: turn each round into a score differential, then average the best of your recent ones. It's a genuinely useful measure of your form — but it's an estimate, and we'd rather tell you exactly what that means.
What it is
- Available after 3 eligible rounds, then updated after every one you log.
- Counts your best differentials from your most recent 20 — see the table below.
- 9-hole rounds count straight away: each is doubled into an 18-hole equivalent.
- Built for tracking your own form and settling friendly games.
What it isn't
- Not an official WHS Handicap Index. It isn't issued by your national union (England Golf, Scottish Golf, Wales Golf or Golf Ireland), and can't be used to enter official competitions.
- It leaves out some official adjustments — like the extra deductions when you only have a few scores, daily course-condition changes, and the caps on how fast a handicap can rise — so it can differ a little from an official figure.

Independent, and made in the UK.
Log My Golf is built and run by James Haken in the United Kingdom. It's a small, independent project rather than a big platform — so when you write in, you reach the people who build it.
Course scorecards start from OpenStreetMap and are completed by the golfers who play them. If a card is wrong or a course is missing, tell us and we'll put it right.
